About

An open alternative, built in Europe.

Stellacris is a vendor-neutral research information system for universities — built for open research information, standards-based, and designed so institutions keep their data.

Research offices deserve a system that gives them a complete, trustworthy record without locking their data inside a proprietary platform. Stellacris is our answer: standards-based, interoperable, and genuinely owned by the institution.

We build in line with the Barcelona Declaration on Open Research Information, with European data residency and full export by design. The goal is simple — help institutions deliver on their open-science commitments, without adding work for their researchers.

We keep the technology deliberately simple — standard, portable, and open — because that is what lets an institution stay in control of its own record. It runs on ordinary infrastructure, so a full research information system is practical for any university to operate.

Why it matters

What we build on

Referent-authoritative

The people who know — your research office and researchers — hold the canonical record. Automated sources enrich it; they never run it.

Open and standards-based

CERIF-aligned, with open identifiers and open endpoints, so your information is interoperable and reusable by design.

Owned by the institution

Full export, open formats, and an on-premises option mean your record is never trapped in a vendor’s system.

European by default

EU data residency and GDPR built in, so compliance is the starting point rather than an add-on.
